My Help

I recently came through a very difficult time in my life. It felt like I was about to break. I could not take any more pressure. I needed help to keep going, and I desperately wanted the situation to change. God answered two prayers the very next day! Where do you turn when you desperately need help?

Psalm 121(KJV) is a beautiful reminder of where our help comes from. It reads, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, Which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." This psalm doesn't leave anything out; God will preserve you forever! He is your faithful helper through every situation in your life.

Psalm 34:4-6 (NLT) says, " I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles." God hears when we pray, and He will bring us joy! Verses 15-22 of the same Psalm exhort, "The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; His ears are open to their cries for help. But the Lord turns His face against those who do evil; He will erase their memory from the earth. The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken! Calamity will surely destroy the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.  But the Lord will redeem those who serve Him. No one who takes refuge in Him will be condemned." The Lord is our Rescuer, Protector, and Redeemer!

Sometimes we pray and do not receive the help we want from the Lord right away. He has a divine plan and purpose for your life. Keep knocking, He said the door would be opened unto you! God's timing is definitely not our timing. Just keep asking God for His help, He surely hears you. Don't give up, just keep fighting the good fight of faith!
