Have you ever thought that you messed up so bad that God couldn't give you another chance? Do you get frustrated with yourself for constantly making mistakes, even though you are trying to live a Christian life?
Many people get to that point at sometime in their lives. The point where you feel like you have exhausted God's mercy or have gone too far away from Him to come back. Some people beat themselves up constantly for failing to live as holy a life as they feel they should.
To get out of that cycle, you must realize that you are not a perfect human being. In your flesh, you will fall and make mistakes--daily! That's OK!
When Jesus came to give us salvation, it was not conditional upon us being perfect. When He saved you, He already knew every single mistake you had made, or would make in the future. Yet, He chose you and loved you anyway.
Now don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that we shouldn't strive to live the best Christian life that we possibly can or that we shouldn't make things right with each other, I'm just saying, don't beat yourself up when you fall short. Don't nit pick every little thing that you do and de-Christianize yourself. You are human and God loves you anyway! Sometimes it is hard for us to love ourselves.
The KJV Bible says in Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
God's mercy is new every morning! Even if you think you have exhausted His mercy the day before, you wake up with a fresh supply each new day! It's like a spring of water that never runs dry. Way better than free refills on your drink at a restaurant...LOL.
Sometimes we feel that we need to merit or deserve to receive something--even if it is free to start with. Isn't that ironic? I mean, if someone offered me $1,000 for free, why would I try to work for it?
God's gift of mercy is so simple. Just accept that He gives you mercy each and every day. It's free, no strings or contracts attached!
Go live a victorious life, like God intended for you. Don't look at your failures, look at His forgiveness and mercy working in your life each new day!
Thank God for new mercy every day!! God bless you for reminding us😊
Amen! Well said!
