Have you ever told someone special, "I will always love you?" Have you ever considered what the word "always" actually means? Webster defines "always" as, "at all times: invariably: forever."
There are verses in the Bible that remind us to always obey God's commands. Deuteronomy 5:29 says, “O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear Me, and keep all My commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!” Deuteronomy 6:24 declares, “And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.” Good things happen when we obey the Lord's commands always.
There are also verses in the Bible that remind us always to think upon God and His Word. 1 Chronicles 16:15 states, “Be ye mindful always of His covenant; the word which He commanded to a thousand generations;” The Psalmist said in Psalm 16:8, “I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”
The Bible also encourages us to pray always. Luke 18:1 says, “And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 21:36 echoes the same sentiment in proclaiming, “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Ephesians 5:20 reads, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” Ephesians 6:18 says, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
God's Word also exhorts us to always do the work that the Lord wants us to do.
1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 proclaims, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” 1 Peter 3:15 states, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” When we always do the works of the Lord, it can affect the lives of people around us for eternity.
God can give us peace always. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 states, “Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.”
God always brings us victory! 2 Corinthians 2:14 states, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.”
God is always with us! In Matthew 28:20, Jesus said, "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." He is always there, whether we are on the mountaintop or down in the valley below.
God always supplies our needs, gives us strength, and makes a way where we cannot see a way. He is always present and knows everything that we are going through. He is always faithful to His Word and to His children.
