Imagine the earth in total darkness. No mountains, no land, no sun, no living things. It's a desolate, lonely place. Then the words are spoken, "Let there be light." Over the course of the next few days, there is land, the sun, the sea, birds, animals, sea creatures, and man.
God created the whole earth and everything in it. Amazing! All of nature speaks to us everyday that there is a wonderful and awesome God! Birds sing His praises. Rivers flow and waves of the ocean crash. Mountains declare His majesty. We serve the God who singlehandedly created the entire universe! That song we sang as children holds true, "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands."
God set everything in perfect order. There are boundaries that the ocean cannot cross. The moon controls the tides. The sun always rises in the east and sets in the west. The timing of everything is so perfect that calendars can be made years in advance.
The Bible says, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." Psalm 139:14 KJV
God made every intricate part of the human body. Each cell has a purpose. Each organ has a specific function. There are bones, muscles, tissues, blood, etc. The detail and complexity of the human body should make us realize that our bodies were designed by God-not just something that happened by chance.
God is all powerful. He can create anything He wants to. He set everything in order. He is awesome! Yet, one of the greatest characteristics of God is His humility. He is so great that no one can fathom it, but He came to earth as a little newborn baby boy. He was a child, a teenager, and grew to be a man. Jesus is His name! He came and died on the cross so that we could be saved from our sins and live with Him forever in Heaven! That is what true greatness is!
Once we have accepted this priceless gift that Jesus has given us, we become part of His family. We are sons and daughters of the greatest King there is! Once His Spirit comes to dwell within us, we are united with Him! Just think, the God that created the whole universe dwells within you! How amazing is that?
How great is our God? Greater than we can ever imagine!
