How do you see yourself? Are you brave and confident? Do you think you are a failure and not very important? No matter how you view yourself, the important thing to remember is how God sees you as His child.
Romans 8:30 KJV says, "Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified." In God's eyes, it is as though you never sinned in the first place. Your slate has been wiped clean. You are already glorified!
1 Peter 2:9 ESV states, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." God sees you as His chosen one. You are special to Him; you are His own possession!
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV. God sees you as a new creature. He isn't dwelling on things that you did in the past. He doesn't bring up past sins that you have already repented for. You are a new creation in His eyes.
According to Ephesians 1:4-5 ESV, God sees us holy and blameless. "Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestinated us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will."
Colossians 2:13-14 ESV shows us that God sees us as forgiven. "And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross." How marvelous to know that ALL of our sins are forgiven--past, present, and future!
Next time you feel down about your mistakes, just think about how God sees you! Holy, blameless, forgiven, called, justified, and forgiven is who you are!
